Admitting Defeat

I have added Fraser's Birding Blog to my link list.

It was hard, really hard as I have mentioned here (and someone else who should really blog more frequently again has mentioned here).

The following series of pictures was the best I was able to do while being at the in-laws in Stralsund over the Christmas and New Year holidays (I have fully recovered, thank you).
These are Black-headed Gulls at dusk, and I solemnly declare defeat.

NEVER declare defeat Jochen!! :) Soon you will get it and then wonder what you made the fuss about. :)

I am not going to ask if you over did the celebrations as I dont think your answer will be fit for this open forum. I hope you enjoyed it though? LOL!!

I'm just hoping this will provoque Fraser to produce even more amazing shots. What a photographer!
Well, let's say the celebration was relatively civilized, compared to e.g. the ones I had in Namibia.

Don't be so hard on yourself; it's tough getting clear shots of flying birds in bad light (especially a greyish bird against a grey background!). I've (shamelessly) posted photos MUCH worse than yours!

Love your blog!

I actually think they are quite cute

Jochen, the photos are not bad, particularly the one with the bird landing on water, if you change the white balance and get rid of the purple cast. It really changes everything. Cheers.

I went to his site and he really does have great shots on it.

Civilized? I have had to use that word on occasions too. LOL!!

They look sort of impressionistic.

Jochen, I thought you might be interested in the comment from Ken Ramos and my reply to him on the snake/worm.
